一、学校概况

University Introduction

太原师范学院是一所以本科师范教育为主、非师范教育和研究生教育协调发展的全日制高等师范院校。是由原山西大学师范学院、太原师范专科学校和山西省教育学院于2000年合并组建而成。

Taiyuan Normal University (TNU) is a full-time higher normal university which is mainly engaged in undergraduate teacher-training education and also has non- teacher-training and postgraduate education. It was merged by Teachers College of Shanxi University, Taiyuan Teachers College and The Shanxi Institute of Education in 2000.

太原师范学院总占地面积约105万平方米，总建筑面积约87万平方米；图书馆馆藏中外文纸质文献126.5万余册，电子图书875万余册，数据库171个。学校现有全日制在校本科生24000多名，硕士研究生278名，各类成人学生3000余名，生源来自全国28个省、市、自治区。

TNU covers a land of 1,050,000 square meters with about 870,000 square meters of construction area. The library now has a stock of over 1,265,000 national and international printed books and 8,750,000 e-books, 171 databases of electronic resources. The university has more than 24,000 undergraduate students, 278 postgraduates and 3,000 adult students from 28 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions nationwide.

太原师范学院现有教学院（系）20个，公共教学部2个，本科专业及方向60个，分布在经济学、法学、教育学、文学、历史学、理学、工学、管理学、艺术学等九大学科门类；硕士研究生有地理学、中国语言文学、数学3个一级学科硕士点，工程硕士（计算机技术）、艺术硕士、教育硕士3个专业学位授权点。太原师范学院现有教职工1443人，其中专任教师848人，包括教授110人，副教授296人，博士146人。

TNU comprises 20 colleges and faculties and 2 teaching departments, offering 60 different undergraduate majors and covering 9 disciplines of Economics, Law, Education, Literature, History, Science, Engineering, Management and Art, while the master degree program includes 3 first-grade discipline master programs in Geography, Chinese Language and Literature, Mathematics, and 3 professional master’s programs in Engineer (Computer Technology), Art and Education. TNU has about 1443 faculty members and working staff with 848 full-time teachers among them, including 110 professors, 296 associate professors and 146 doctors.

太原师范学院目前已与国内外10多所高校建立了友好合作关系，与美国纽约州立大学奥尔巴尼分校、北密歇根大学、菲斯克大学，英国阿斯顿大学，加拿大布兰登大学、德国马格德堡大学、澳大利亚阿德莱德大学等高校签署了合作协议。陆续派学生分赴纽约州立大学奥尔巴尼分校、纽约州立大学帕切斯学院、意大利福贾市福贾美术学院、佛罗伦萨大学、意大利佛罗伦萨国立美术学院、加拿大希尔克学院等大学交流学习。学校还聘请国内外知名专家、学者来校讲学，并选派优秀教师到国内外知名学府、科研院所访习或开展学术交流。

TNU at present has established friendly cooperative relations with more than 10 universities at home and abroad, and has signed cooperative agreements with the State University of New York at Albany, Northern Michigan University, Fisk University in America, Aston University in UK, Brandon University in Canada, Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg in Germany, the University of Adelaide in Australia. The university has also sent students for exchange and study for several consecutive years at the following universities: State University of New York at Albany and State University of New York at Purchase in America, Accademia di belle arti DI FOGGIA, University of Florence, Florence National Academy of Fine Arts in Italy, Selkirk College in Canada. TNU also invites famous experts and scholars to come to give lectures, and sends excellent teachers to famous domestic and international universities and institutions for study and academic exchanges.

二、招生项目

Programs for International Students

国际学生来太原师范学院学习，可以根据自身情况选择申请攻读本科、双学位或硕士学位项目；也可以申请非学历汉语言项目、进修或访学项目、短期培训项目。

International students have the following options of study on both degree and non-degree programs at Taiyuan Normal University. Degree programs include Bachelaor Program, Dual-degree Program and Master Program. Non-degree programs include Chinese Language Program, Visiting Student Program, Research Scholar Program and Short-term Program.

四、学制与学年

Studying Duration and Academic Schedule

语言生分为三个月、半年、一年及两年；本科生及双学位学制为4年；硕士研究生学制为3年。国际学生可以根据学业情况申请适当提前或延期毕业。

The normal studying duration for Chinese Language Program is 3 months, 6 months, one year and two yeas; 4 years for bachelor degree or double-degree, and 3 years for master degree. International students may, in particular cases, apply for earlier or delayed graduation.

每学年分为春、秋两个学期，学期的安排根据中国农历春节的时间，每年略有不同。第一学期（秋季学期）始于每年8月底或9月初，于次年1月中下旬结束；第二学期（春季学期）始于每年2月下旬或3月初，于当年7月中旬结束。每学年有寒假和暑假两个长假期，暑假通常为6周，寒假通常为4周左右，与中国的春节假日相连。具体开学和放假时间请参看当年的校历。

TNU divides every academic year into spring and autumn semesters, with the latter marking the commencement of the academic year. The autumn semester starts in late August or early September and ends in mid- or late January of the following year, while the spring semester begins in late February or early March and ends in mid-July. There will be a winter and summer vacation every year. The summer vacation usually lasts for 6 weeks, while the winter vacation lasts for 4 weeks and normally coincides with the Chinese New Year. Please check the latest academic calendar for details.

Application

学历项目：

3月1日至5月10日申请，当年9月入学。

非学历项目：

春季学期：9月1日至11月10日申请，次年3月入学。

秋季学期：3月1日至5月10日申请，当年9月入学。

每人每次收取报名费800元人民币（含必要的入学考核费用）。申请人须在提交报名材料前缴纳报名费, 且申请费不予退还。

The Application fee is RMB 800 Yuan for each applicant each time, and the applicants should pay the application fee before submitting application materials. The application fee is non-refundable.

Applicants should mail the hard copy of the application forms and other required materials to the Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges, Taiyuan Normal University (the address is enclosed in the item Contact Information).

4. Qualification of Applicants

1). 申请者须为年满18周岁持有效外国护照的非中国籍公民，身体健康，品行良好，愿意遵守中国政府的法律和学校的规章制度，尊重中国人民的风俗习惯。

1). Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens aged 18 or above, with valid passport and healthy, should abide by Chinese law and the regulations, and should respect Chinese social customs.

2). Requirements of Language Proficiency:

(a) 中文授课项目的申请者应有的汉语水平：人文、社科、管理项目申请者一般应在入学前通过汉语水平考试HSK5级以上；理科、工程类项目申请者一般应在入学前通过汉语水平考试HSK4级以上。        

(a) For programs offered in Chinese: applicants for the programs of humanities, social sciences and management should pass Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK) band 5 or above before admission, and those for science and engineering programs should pass Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK) band 4 or above before admission.

(b) 普通进修生如申请到专业院系选课学习，汉语水平一般应在入学前通过汉语水平考试HSK5级以上。持有HSK6级以上证书者可直接入系选课。

(b) General Visiting Students are allowed to take specialty courses when they pass Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK) band 5 and above before admission. The owners of Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK) band 6 or above can take specialty courses directly.

(c) 对高级进修生（包括研究学者）没有强制的汉语要求，但必须能与指导或合作教授进行正常的语言交流。

(c) Senior Visiting Students (including Research Scholars) are not required to take the Chinese language proficiency exam, on the premise that the candidate experiences no obstacles in communicating with their advisor.

(d) 无汉语基础的申请者可以申请在太原师范学院国际教育中心进行1-3年汉语培训，通过汉语要求后进入专业学习。

(d) Applicants of Chinese-taught programs without adequate Chinese language proficiency must take Chinese language training courses in the   International Education Center at TNU for one to three years to reach the language requirements before major studies.

六、奖学金

Scholarship

太原师范学院国际学生可申请山西省国际学生政府奖学金和太原师范学院国际学生奖学金资助。奖学金用于资助学费、生活费、医疗保险费和基本教材费等的一项或几项。奖学金可提供给各层次的申请者，包括语言生、进修生、本科生、双学位学生、硕士研究生。奖学金优先资助来太原师范学院攻读研究生学位或双学位的优秀国际学生。经批准获得奖学金资助的国际学生，须参加奖学金年度考评。考评合格者可继续获得下一学年奖学金资助。

Currently, Taiyuan Normal University offers two kinds of scholarship to the international students: Shanxi Government Scholarship (SGS) and Taiyuan Normal University Scholarship (TNUS). The Scholarship is mostly open to both the degree program students (undergraduate and graduate) and the non-degree program students (the visiting students and Chinese language students). The scholarships cover full or parts of the tuition, living allowance, medical insurance, basic textbooks, etc. The outstanding international students studying for undergraduate and graduate degree at TNU are given priority for scholarship. Normally the students can apply for the scholarship every year so long as they can finish their study as required by TNU.

七、医疗保险

Medical insurance

中国教育部规定，国际学生必须购买中国大陆境内保险公司的医疗保险。3个月以下的短期国际学生如果能够提供已购买医疗保险的证明，则可以不参加集体保险。对于没有购买所要求的医疗保险者，学校将不予办理注册手续。

According to the requirement of Chinese Ministry of Education, Students should purchase the Comprehensive Insurance Plan for Foreign Students provided by the insurance companies within Chinese mainland before registration. A waiver of medical insurance can be considered for the Short-term international students (less than 3 months) if they can provide certificate of medical insurance coverage of the similar kind. Students who do not have valid medical insurance are not allowed to register.

九、食宿安排

Accommodation and Board

 

葡京国际平台：为国际学生提供公寓(两室一厅结构，60-80平米，安排四名学生入住)作为宿舍，房内配有网络、家具、厨房、卫生间等设施。住宿费为每人每床30元人民币。在学生食堂就餐，每人每月600元左右，也在公寓自己备餐。

TNU provides apartments (60-80 square meters with two rooms and one lounge in each apartment for four students to live in) equipped with Internet access, furniture, kitchen and bathroom as the dormitory for international students. The accommodation fee is RMB 30 Yuan per bed per day. Three meals at the students’ Dining Hall are around 600 Yuan per month per person. International students could prepare food for their own in the apartment.

十、签证申请及入学报到

Visa Application and Registration

被录取的国际学生应持普通护照、《录取通知书》、《外国留学人员来华签证申请表》、《外国人体格检查记录》及所有体格检查报告原件前往中国驻国际学生所在国使（领）馆办理来华签证（具体要求请咨询当地中国大使馆或领事馆）。最后，持以上材料按《录取通知书》规定的日期到太原师范学院国际交流与合作处办理入学报到手续。

Please bring your passport, Admission Notice, Visa Application Form (JW202), and original Form of Health Record for Foreigners to the Embassy or Consulate of the People's Republic of China, and apply for student visa. All the documents should be original. (Applicants can consult the Embassy or Consulate of the People's Republic of China for specific requirement.) Students shall come to Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges of Taiyuan Normal University for registration during the dates indicated on the Admission Notice with the aforementioned documents.

 学习时间在6个月以上入学者必须持个人普通护照和X1签证入境，在抵达中国后30天内需要到市公安局出入境管理处将X1签证转换成学习的居留许可。学习时间在半年之内可以申请X2签证。

A study period of 6 months and above requires an ordinary passport and an X1 visa. Accepted applicants need to exchange their X1 visas to a Residence Permit at the local Exit and Entry Administration of Public Security Bureau, within 30 days of arrival in China. If your period of study is less than half a year, you may apply for an X2 visa.
